Changes in policy promoting renewable energy in Republic of Moldova
Cabinet of ministers has approved a series of amendments and additions to the Law promoting the usage of renewable energy sources. It is meant to harmonize the legislation of Republic of Moldova in the area of renewable energy source of EU acquis.
The Government will establish new rules for organizing and managing auctions for the production of electricity from renewable sources, to promote competition among major investors.
At the same time, National Energy Regulatory Agency will have the competence to confirm the status of eligible manufacturer for development projects, manifesting its interest to invest in renewable energy technologies in Republic of Moldova.
An extended period of time was also approved for offering investment in the construction of power plants, from 24 to 36 months.
The document will be forwarded to the Parliament for examination.
