The fiscal reform, which came into force on October 1, will provide indexation of the state budget by reducing the underground economy. This will also allow for the payment of salary increases. The statements were made by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Ion Chicu, at Publika TV's "Spotlight" show.
"We have accumulated 2 billion 729 million lei in the state budget, and in October last year this amount was 2 billion 385 million lei. You can see that it is an increase of almost 300 million lei. Own revenues in the Social Insurance Budget in 2017 were 846 million lei, in October 2018 they are 951 million lei", said the general secretary of state Ministry of Finance, Ion Chicu.
Political analyst Vitalie Catana said that data denied the declarations of opposition representatives who criticized the tax reform.
"The quality of the opposition is very low, and they are probably not able to study these issues in depth, which influences their behavior on the political scene", said Vitalie Catana.
Ion Chicu also said that calculations have already been made for the wages to be increased next year:
"The cost of this reform is set in the budget for 2019, and this budget is based on macroeconomic indicators that have been coordinated with the International Monetary Fund in September this year."
Under these circumstances, expert Vitalie Catana says the hesitation of the opposition to support the initiative is unfounded: "It is those who have already been in power, have the opportunity to grow the economy, raise people's salaries, but have not done so. This situation ruins their political calculations. "
Previously, DPM leader Vlad Plahotniuc announced that salaries will increase by 20, 50 and even 90 percent for 150 thousand. The reform is due to enter into force on 1 December.
