Children with hearing, hearing or locomotor disabilities will be able to attend sports groups
Children with vision, hearing or locomotor disabilities will be able to attend sports groups. The Government has approved new regulations for the operation of sports schools.
Children with hearing, hearing or locomotor disabilities will be able to attend sports groups. At the same time, from 10 to 14 will be increased the number of pupils from the villages, included in the groups for the summer sports camps. These provisions are contained in the new Regulations for the organization and functioning of sports schools, approved today by the Government.
Another novelty relates to the beginning of the study year. Thus, sports schools will begin their study year on September 1, not January 1, as it is actually. At the same time, the age of admission for several categories of sports, including gymnastics, football, wrestling, basketball and tennis, will be diminished. For example, in gymnastics, girls will be admitted from 5 to 7 years, and not from 6-8 years as it is today, and boys will be admitted to football from 7 to 9 years, instead of 8 to 10 years as it is now.
The regulation also provides for the introduction of new disciplines, such as beach football, biathlon, hockey, football-tennis, tennis and racing.
In order to appreciate the performances of the best athletes at international level and their inclusion in the National Lot, the World Games and the Youth Olympic Games - contests that were previously not on the list of official competitions will be considered. Also, performance athletes, national championships and official international competitions will be able to continue their training in "Advance" groups after the age of 21, at the current age of 20 years.
In the Republic of Moldova there are 93 sports schools and 6 sports high schools.
