Chiril Gaburici and new chief of OSCE Mission to Moldova Claus Neukirch plead for further dialogue on the Transnistrian settlement process
Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Chiril Gaburici, met with the new head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Claus Neukirch regarding OSCE assistance to continue the dialogue in the process of sustainable and comprehensive settlement of the Transnistrian conflict.
Chiril Gaburici congratulated Claus Neukirch with his return to Moldova as an OSCE mediator in the Transnistrian settlement process, especially for the knowledge of the 5+2 negotiation process, with extensive professional experience in the field.
"I am convinced that the return to the OSCE Mission to Moldova and, with 20 years of professional experience in the OSCE region, we will together find the best solutions for dialogue in the 5+2 format on the Transnistrian settlement process. We continue to support and assist the OSCE for a constructive dialogue on defending the interests of citizens on both sides of the Dniester", noted Chiril Gaburici.
In his turn, the new chief of the OSCE mission mentioned that he supports Moldova in the Transnistrian settlement process and will provide all necessary support for a positive dynamic of the dialogue between the two sides of the Nistru, including the fields of activity of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure.
Officials discussed the current situation regarding the negotiations on the Transnistrian conflict and the dynamic of the dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol in the last period. Among the results obtained by the sides was mentioned the opening the bridge between GUra Bicului and Bicicho at the end of 2017, located on the two banks of the Dniester River, as well as the preliminary steps taken to re-establish the telephone connection between the two banks of the Dniester.
Claus Neukirch, worked between 2008 and 2011 at the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Deputy Chief of Mission, with responsibility for communication and public relations. During 2011-2017, he worked at the OSCE Central Office in Vienna, and for one year, 2017-2018, he was the representative of the Council of Europe in Albania. She speaks German, English, Romanian and Russian.
