Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Chiril Gaburici, today visited the construction site of a new factory Fujikura Automotive MLD in Comrat Industrial Park. Completion of construction works for the new plant is scheduled for the end of this year. The total area of the plant will be 10 thousand m2.

Minister Chiril Gaburici was welcomed by Gagauzian Bashkan, Irina Vlah, Japan's Ambassador to Moldova, Masanobu Yoshii, and Mayor of Comrat, Serghei Anastasov.

During the visit, the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure stressed that the Government pays special attention to the automotive sector and sees great potential in job creation, raising the welfare of the population and the industrial development of the Republic of Moldova.

"We appreciate the work you are doing in our country, the interest and the desire to invest and expand your business, to create new jobs. Today, a group of potential foreign investors from Japan, Hungary, Romania, Portugal, who are interested in the investment opportunities of the Republic of Moldova, are visiting Comrat today. I hope you will share the positive experience of launching and carrying out activity in our country ", mentioned the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure.

Subsequently, Chiril Gaburici also visited the Fujikura Automotive MLD - the largest investment in ATU Gagauzia in the past 10 years, which created 475 jobs. Around 1000 jobs will be created by the end of this year, with a future increase of up to 2000 employees.

"Creating jobs has an important social impact for young people in this region, who see their future in the Republic of Moldova. Make use of their potential and give them the chance to develop at home, "the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure reiterated.

In this context, the Minister spoke about the most important economic reforms promoted by the authorities.

"The government is an ally of investors. We make every effort to improve our business environment. To this end, the number of permissive documents has been reduced, the number of institutions with control functions has been optimized, the single window shop for permissive acts will be launched. We encourage all investors to benefit from the investment opportunities offered by industrial parks, free economic zones, IT park ", reiterated Chiril Gaburici.

President Fujikura Automotive Europe, Santiago Rodriguez, appreciated their support from the Moldovan Government and local authorities, noting that they are interested in expanding their business and being as active on the market in our country.

Fujikura Automotive will sign a Cooperation Agreement with the Technical University of Moldova on May 31, 2018. The company also plans to develop a center hiring young engineers from UTM.

Fujikura is an important player on the global automotive market, with over 54,000 employees globally. Turnover exceeds $ 5.65 billion. In 2017, Fujikura Automotive MLD inaugurated the first factory in Moldova, located in ZEL Expo Business Chisinau, which employs almost 1,350 people.
