Chiril Gaburici: Infrastructure investment to boost economy in Republic of Moldova
The Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Chiril Gaburici, has participated today at the meeting of the National Coordination Council for Regional Development (CNCDR), where three regional development projects worth more than 60 million lei are approved. The money will be earmarked from the National Fund for Regional Development as well as private investors' sources.
Accordingly, the CNDCR members decide to finance the investment projects:
- The capital construction of the bypass road R1-R14, the access road to the sub-zones No. 4 and 5 of the Strășeni Free Economic Zone ,
- Rehabilitation and modernization of the L442-Strășeni-Voinova regional road, Strășeni district
- Sustainable and competitive development of the Rezina town by arranging the tourist structures related to the Rezina sports complex .
According to Minister Chiril Gaburici, these projects will directly contribute to regional development - one of the priorities of the Government of the Republic of Moldova.
"Improving road infrastructure in Straseni district is a conditionality of foreign investors, who are to develop business in ZEL. The Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure supports these initiatives. We must be partners with investors coming to our country. By investing in infrastructure, we invest in the economic development of the Republic of Moldova, "pointed out Chiril Gaburici.
The construction and rehabilitation of the streets in Strășeni is a conditionality of the Japanese investor Sumitomo, which is building a new production plant in the automotive field with about 4000 jobs. The investments are 50 million euros, the company will start operating in 2019.
