"One of the areas with a big potential for the Republic of Moldova is the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector. We will have a country presentation in December with the big IT companies located in Romania, ready to expand their activity in Republic of Moldova. We are also ready to make a presentation in Geneva of the IT sector facilities and IT Park facilities in our country. Republic of Moldova supports and advocates for a viable multilateral trading system within the WTO. On behalf of the Republic of Moldova, we reaffirm our determination to continue contributing to the consolidation and improvement of the existing multilateral trading system, which is still able to respond to the economic and financial needs of countries, including by focusing on sustainable and inclusive development. We consider the WTO as a major platform for talks on the trade system and we are determined to strengthen the efforts of the countries in the region to support and develop trade".
The statement was made by the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Chiril Gaburici, at today's meeting with Alan Wolff, Deputy General Manager of the World Trade Organization (WTO), working visit to Chisinau on October 22-26, the context of the Regional Public Procurement Forum in the Central and Eastern European countries and the Caucasus countries, which is held this year in Moldova, organized with the support of the EBRD and the Ministry of Finance of the WTO.
