Chiril Gaburici to James D.Pettit: I want to bring Tesla, Apple and ABM in Moldova

At today's meeting of Minister Chiril Gburici with the US Ambassador to Moldova James D. Pettit and the other representatives of the Embassy, the minister said he wants to bring companies such as Tesla, Apple and ABM to Moldova.
"I want to bring Tesla, Apple and IMB companies in the Moldovan manufacturing area and I want to share experience with these corporations, so we will bring American entrepreneurial culture to our home to increase competitiveness, to have common activities for the business environment", said Chiril Gaburici, the minister of Economy and Infrastructure.
The Minister made a review of the economic reforms implemented and of the actions taken on the commitments made by the Government of the Republic of Moldova towards the development partners, especially for ensuring energy security and developing the IT domain. In this context, Chiril Gaburici mentioned that the legislative framework regulating business activity in the Republic of Moldova - the pro-business package, implemented regulatory reform, simplified fiscal policy, etc. was adjusted.
"The Republic of Moldova offers advantages and investment opportunities for the American business community in all the priority areas of the country. In particular, the IT field has a great potential for development and needs to be exploited and we are proposing the organization of bilateral forums this autumn , to present the successes of this chapter and the facilities provided by the IT park in Moldova, where about 250 companies are registered ", stressed Chiril Gaburici.
Ambassador James D. Pettit appreciated the recent visit of the Moldovan delegation to the US and the measures taken by the Government to advance trade and increase the volume of bilateral trade. James D. Pettit also welcomed the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure's initiative to provide the United States with technical assistance for entrepreneurial and marketing training for domestic business.
US officials have said that the IT field is one with potential that will record the best and most visible results.
The dialogue discussed the necessity of activating existing working groups within the Strategic Dialogue for the efficiency of economic cooperation. The volume of foreign trade of the Republic of Moldova with the United States in January-May 2018 amounted to about 42 million dollars, up 2.65% over the same period of 2017.
