Chiril Gaburici urged exporters to benefit approved status to facilitate walnuts exports on EU market
Difficulties in exporting walnuts on EU market was the topic discussed at the Economy Ministry today.
The meeting was attended by the Economy Minister Chiril Gaburici, representatives of the Economy Ministry, the Finance Ministry, the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, the Customs Service, the National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA), the EU Delegation in Chisinau, the European Business Association high-level EU experts. The hearing was organized following multiple referrals from exporters.
During the talks, Minister Chiril Gaburici urged exporters to benefit from the approved export status, which allows preferential exports without a certificate of origin issued by the Customs Service.
Particularly, the approved exporter has the right to document on his/her own responsibility the preferential origin of the exported goods by completing the invoice declarations / declarations of origin, irrespective of the value of those goods.
Also, the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure encouraged exporters to apply for certificates of preferential origin of goods (EUR.1) at the customs offices' internal terminals, in order to speed up and simplify the export procedure, as well as to avoid blockages at customs points.
These certificates confirm the origin of the goods, so exporters are exempt from customs duties and thus benefit from the DCFTA between Moldova and the European Union. In this context, the ANSA was mentioned to check the goods quality from the production to the export stage.
At the same time, Chiril Gaburici mentioned that it is very important to inform individuals about the fiscal facilities applied to the sale of the walnut core.
If the value of walnut kernel sales does not exceed 300,000 lei annually, it's exempt from the income tax and controls by the State Tax Service
