Chiril Gaburici: We need an efficient management in activity of state companies
The achievements in IT and the actions to be taken to attract large IT companies were discussed at the meeting of the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Mr. Chiril Gaburici, with the representatives of PwC, a service provider of the Good Governance Fund, financed by the Government Great Britain.
The parties also talked about the need to streamline the activity of state-owned companies, including by means of privatization tools, to make them profitable.
"We analyze various possibilities - concessions, partnerships, privatizations of state-owned enterprises. We consider that state-owned enterprises must be profitable and in this respect we have to solve the issue of management efficiency." PwC representatives have mentioned the experience of privatizing several Romanian companies in the energy sector, which are now profitable. The experts appreciated the effort of the Government of the Republic of Moldova to improve the business environment conditions.
"I was pleasantly impressed to find that the Republic of Moldova has succeeded in adopting a set of fiscal measures to facilitate the IT industry's activity. It is a very good thing and the results will be visible over time." The parties agreed on an impact assessment on the IT sector, aiming at evaluating the results of the IT reform implementation in the Republic of Moldova one year after its implementation. PwC experts will come up with suggestions and recommendations on maximizing the potential of this area.
