Chiril Lucinchi remains on house arrest for 30 more days
The former PLDM deputy who was detained for the frauds on Unibank, Social Bank and Bank of Economy should spend 30 days more in home detention. The decision was approved by Chisinau Prosecutor's Office.
The accusation says there is a risk for him to run away from country, or to influence Ilan Shor, who is an eyewitness on this case.
''The accusation assumes that Chiril Lucinschi could escape from the prosecution instance as he has the possibility, because he has Romanian and Russian citizenship. Another eyewitness of the case will be questioned'', declared Eugen Rurac, anti-corruption prosecutor.
Till now, four other eyewitnesses were questioned. The last one is the mayor of Orhei, Ilan Shor, who is convicted for participating in the bank fraud from Economy Bank.
''-When are you going to be questioned?
-At the second session'', declared Eugen Rurac.
The suspected rejects the blames of the anti-corruption prosecutors and says he will request the extension of the house arrest.
''I consider that the prosecutor didn't create the conditions for the eyewitness to come. His argument is that I can influence the eyewitnesses'', said Chiril Lucinschi.
Son of the former president of Republic of Moldova was detained on May 25. He is blamed on money laundering of big proportions.
Chiril Lucinschi risks up to 10 years in prison.
