Chisinau-based health institution's section inaugurated after renovation with Romania's financial support
The Anesthesiology Section at the Chisinau-based Institute of Mother and Child today was inaugurated following renovation and modernization carried out with the financial support of Romania’s government.
The Anesthesiology Section has been completely repaired, modernized and equipped with functional beds, poly-functional monitors for supervising patients, ventilators and defibrillators. The investments made by the Romanian government amount to about four million lei.
“I want to thank the government of Romania and the Romanian nation for the donation. The most complicated births are concentrated in this section. Therefore, the existence of specialists, as well as of rooms renovated and endowed with equipments is absolutely essential, in order to be able to guarantee a better quality of medical services” , Health Minister Ruxanda Glavan said.
At this section, the patients who were operated on or subjected to Caesarean section will benefit from qualitative medical supervision during 24 hours, in order to come to following operations.
“So far, if a patient has been operated on, she used to be transferred to the Reanimation Section, Surgical Obstetrics Section or sections for lately confined women, and medical employees did not have time to properly supervise all patients; yet, now, it will be more easier for us to provide quality medical services" , the director of the Institute of Mother and Child, Sergiu Gladun, said.
Besides this section, another four sections are under renovation within the Moldovan-Romanian project underway since 2014. The overall investments of Romania to modernize the Institute of Mother and Child are worth 2.5 million euros.
“I am happy that the money offered by Romania’s government contributes to improving the life and conditions for all Moldova’s citizens. What I saw here represents an example of efficient spending of money. People will be born and mothers will recover after birth here in European spirit and at European standards,” Romanian Ambassador to Moldova Daniel Ionita said.
About 6,000 children are annually born at the Institute of Mother and Child.
