The Chisinau City Hall has acquired high-tech equipment for collecting and transporting the leaves.
Five vacuum cleaners and five trailers will be put into operation so that by the middle of this week the vegetable waste is stored at the Pruncul Street platform.
"The whole new technique cost 3.8 million lei. We try to deal with and systematically evacuate the leaves. Weekly, around 350 routes are made. Until now, the leaves were collected manually. We plan to install a composting plant on the territory of the platform, which will become operational from next year. The compost will be used in the parks and public gardens in the capital", said Artiom Burdiumov, head of the General Directorate for Housing and Public Works for Moldpres.
In his turn, interim mayor of Chisinau, Ruslan Codreanu, requested that all leaves of the city be discharged within three days.
At the same time, the district ministers said that the economic agents were warned about the storage of the leaves, but unfortunately not all of them comply. Thus, last week, 23 minutes were drawn up on their behalf, and a committee carried out systematic checks.
