Over 29 980 cigarette packs, worth 280 000 lei, were confiscated at Romanian Customs.

The goods were transported hidden in a van among young fruit trees. The packs were of different brands and all from Republic of Moldova.

The 33-year-old young man, citizen of both Romania and Republic of Moldova declared that after a deal with an unknown person, he was supposed to take the cigarettes to Iași.

The vehicle and goods were confiscated for searches, while the man is accused of smuggling.
