The Comrat authorities will pay 100 thousand lei to find out if they can give another name to Lenin street from the town.

The municipal council wants to organize a local referendum where people will be asked whether they accept this idea.

The plebiscite will be organized in September.

We remind that the main street from Comrat plans to turn its name from Lenin to Stepan Topal.

The mayor of Comrat says that the decision of the municipal council was suspended for the period of preparing for the consultative referendum. Thus, in three months, there will be organized public consultations with the residents of Comrat.

Serghei Anastasov also said that the plebiscite will not take place earlier than six months.
