Comrat City Hall is so rich. In order to organize the referendum to change the name of the main street, Lenin, they want to start collecting money.

Thus, 100 thousand lei will not be used for the infrastructure or for repair works, but for changing the main street's name into Stepan Topal, a separatism promoter in the 90s.

Also, two million will be found to change the street plates where the name of the street is written.

"We will do it for our history. We want to organize a referendum. We hope that people will donate enough money. We decided to open a bank account for it", said Serghei Anastasov, the mayor of Comrat.

According to Anastasov, the referendum will be organized at the beginning of the next year. The idea to name the street into Stepan Topal belongs to the historians.

The residents of Comrat have different opinions on this topic:

"I think that we should do it. Lenin was never been the best."

"I think that it is better to use this money to arrange a park or a playground."

Stepan Topal died 80 at the end of the last year.
