Health Management Information System shows that less mothers are breastfeeding their infants. Statistics show that last year, only 27 000 women nursed their children to one year old, the number being bigger in 2016, with 28 300 women.
The number of infants to three months old being breastfed is also decreasing. According to the data, in 2017, the number being of 34 000, while in 2016 were over 36 000. Experts urge young mothers to nurse their children.
A breastfed child has less chances of malnutrition, anemia and it strengthens their brain and immune system.
According to doctors, an infant needs to be nursed to at lest six months old.
