The Moldovan Constitutional Court has ruled in favor of pregnant women, who quit their jobs. Thus, they will get the maternity payment from the state.
The law in force provides such payments only for the unemployed pregnant women, their subsidy being calculated in relation to their husband’s salary.
The Constitutional Court had been seized by the barrister of a plaintiff, who invoked discriminatory treatment of pregnant women quitting jobs, in relation to unemployed mothers-to-be.
