Constitutional Court took a decision over the February 24 referendum
The Constitutional Court confirmed the results of the February 24 referendum.
According to the official data, over 39% of the citizens voted for the referendum initiated by the Democratic party.
Within the referendum, the citizens had two questions: if they want to reduce the number of deputies from 101 to 61 and the second one, to dismiss the deputies who don't fulfill their responsibilities.
Thus, canalizing the protocols regarding the preliminary results of the referendum, CEC concluded:
- 1.144.261 citizens said their opinion on " Do you want to reduce the number of deputies from 101 to 61?" question. 744,529 voter FOR and 266,188 voted Against.
-1.143.397 citizens said their opinion on "Do you want to dismiss the deputies who don't fulfill their responsibilities?" Thus, 808.266 citizens voted for and 202.497 voted AGAINST.
We remind that the republican referendum took place in the same day as the parliamentary elections, on February 24 2019.
