Construction works of Arena Chisinau continue even on holidays. Every day more than 200 people work on the Stauceni village. The polyvalent hall, which will accommodate up to five thousand people, is due to be ready in mid-October. There will be organized basketball, tennis, martial arts competitions, as well as various exhibitions or concerts.
Three months after the work began, the workers prepare the first concrete layers and continue to work on the carcasses for the four arena platforms.
"They are Turkish citizens, most of them are companies, but they are also Moldovan citizens who are employed and are doing their jobs here at the site. How did the compaction of the soil go to the foundation plates and the monolithic reinforced concrete constructions", said the chief of the construction yard, Vitalie Vieru.
The complex, with a total area of 10 hectares, will have a multi-purpose gym, Aqua Park, a tennis club, resting places and parking for a thousand cars.
"We are in the aqua center of the center, here will be an Olympic swimming pool and an aqua center for children, for fun", said Vitalie Vieru, head of the yard construction.
Optimists, workers say they will be able to complete the works on time, once they are on the construction site even on holidays.
"Everyday, practically the same works, panels, connections, I supply the electric workers, where we can not add", said Fiodor Levinte, a worker.
"We work from morning till late in the evening to make a beautiful sports complex for Moldova. We have dug the ground, we are now compacting it, the compactor goes on and it is compacting it", said Ion Sava, a worker.
Construction costs will reach 50 million euros, and the amount will be largely covered by foreign investors.
