Cooperation Agreement between Moldovan and Belarus Offices of Prosecutor General signed
Attorney general, Eduard Harunjen and his Belarusian counterpart, Alexander Koniuk have signed in Chisinau, a cooperation Agreement between Office of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Moldova and Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Belarus on combating organized crime and terrorism.
The Agreement confirms the wish to maintain and develop cooperation between the two institution based on rule of law.
The two parties will cooperate to facilitate and accelerate the process of offering judicial assistance on fight against terrorism, extremism, corruption, human trafficking, drug and weapon trafficking, on confiscating and recovering goods gained through crime, as well as other types of crimes both in Republic of Moldova and Republic of Belarus.
The document promotes consultations, visits, experience and information exchange on developing the legal system in both countries, including professional training of prosecutors.
Based on the achievements of each state, the parties will proceed to exchange information, will cooperate to offer judicial assistance and completing the methodological basis in the fields of activity.
The Agreement will be brought into force once it is signed.
The Agreement with Republic of Belarus represents the 14th agreement signed between Office of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Moldova and similar foreign institutions. Agreements already being signed with Italy, Romania, Republic of Ireland, Hungary, Ukraine, Turkey, South Korea, China, Georgia, Belgium, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia.
