“For Orhei” Fraction from the Orhei City council will not advocate the request of the Anti-corruption Prosecutor’s Office to suspend Ilan Sor from the position of mayor of Orhei.

According to representatives of the fraction, prosecutors have done a lot of abuse during the detainment of Ilan Sor. The declarations were made during a media briefing.

PUBLIKA.MD reminds that Ilan Sor was accused of fraud and money laundering in huge proportions. According to information, the amount of unregistered loans given by BEM in the period when Ilan Sor was president of the Administration Council is 13 billion lei. The money from the loans was the subject ofsmuggling and money laundering in huge proportions.

The General Prosecutor’s Office has initiated at the beginning of December 2014, a penal investigation regarding the shady transactions betweenBanca de Economii and Banca Sociala.

In May 2015, Ilan Sor was placed in house arrest for 30 days, being accused in BEM case file.

Anti-corruption prosecutors have seized his fortune.
