Councilman from Crihana Veche detained for growing cannabis in his garden
A councilman from Crihana Veche village was arrested today by officers from Office of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Moldova. Together with a friend, the men are suspected for trading drugs in big quantities.
After the investigation 17 bushes of cannabis, 7 packages containing dried and processed cannabis amounting to 40 kg were confiscated.
The case begun in January 2017 and is still ongoing, the officers intending to find and take into custody all implicated parties.
The man grew the plant in a greenhouse located in his own garden.
The attorney have already submitted warranties for signing to detain the two men for 30 days.
Moreover multiple people were declared wanted by the police.
If found guilty the men risks to spend the next 15 years behind bars.
Those detentions are a part of a bigger investigation performed by Office of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Moldova in the southern parts of the country. The case seeks to find an punish drug dealers and multiple investigation have already taken place.
