Couple's rude awakening as kangaroo crashes through window
An Australian couple had a roo-ed awakening when a kangaroo crashed through their bedroom window and landed on them as they slept, according to stv.tv.
Norma McConnell and her husband Bill were fast asleep when they heard an almighty crash and woke to find a kangaroo a couple of feet from her face.
Bill told Australian radio station 3AW that they were alerted to the intruder by the family dog who started barking loudly.
The marsupial had cleared the window by four foot, he said.
Mr McConnell said: "There was this huge smash and bang as the window collapsed and this object came hurtling through the window.
"We didn't have a clue what it was."
After the kangaroo hit the bed, it tried to escape down the corridor and push its way out through a window in the dining room.
When it couldn't get out there, it tried its luck in the family room.
Mr McConnell said: "It tried to get out of another window and instead collided with the television.
"It had obviously hurt itself a fair bit as there's a trail of blood down the corridor."
The disorientated 'roo then hid behind a chair until Mrs McConnell opened the patio doors and it fled - bounding over the 6ft fence at the bottom of the garden.
"It wasn't aggressive. It didn't really look like it wanted to attack the dog or us," said Mr McConnell.
