A lower court from Chisinau has suspended mayor Dorin Chirtoacă’s decision kicking off a tender on buying 50 buses. The court took the decision following the request of the Government’s office in the municipality.
The winner was to be announced later in December, but the lawsuit suspending the smooth going of the process.
Dorin Chirtoaca says his decision is legal and will sue the Government’s office’s request at the Court of Appeal.
“The bus company does not need the Municipal Council’s approval to make this acquisition, because it uses its own money,” said the mayor.
All those 135 buses of the municipal fleet have been outdated for long.
