Crazy Kart 1000 6th edition in Chisinau attracted over 20 participants
Those who love the rush of adrenaline and speed have participated today in a carting competition. Over 20 amateurs of different age and jobs have came to the start line and crossed a 300 km track.
"A pilot must always wear a helmet. This equipment is made of fireproof material, as during races fire sometimes happen" participant Vadim Vasiuc said.
Andreea Bica has proven that such events don't attract only men.
"My father was a pilot. Since an early age I loved this sport. For now I participate in amateur races. I love the speed, but at the same time learn from professionals."
The competition had seven teams, including one of children.
"70 laps are much for me. The track is very curvy, making you tired easily" national champion in carting, Konstantin Karagancev explained.
Pilots were switching after every 200 laps.
"The competition is based on teamwork. Each team has to do 1000 laps" president of Autosport Moldova Federation, Alexandr Raileanu said.
The track is equipped with sensors that registered every lap.
"When you take the wheel the fear disappears, because it does not seems to be going so fast anymore and the curves not so dangerous. Amateur carts can develop to 70 km/h, while professional ones up to 100 km/h" Konstantin Karagancev added.
It is the sixth time this even took place. Winners were awarded with "Crazy Kart 1000" cups.
