The criminal files of five company directors accused of organizing fake auctions and million assistance of the Ecologic Fund for nonexistent works were sent for trial.

The prosecutors found our that the instigator who owns many companies managed by his friends and relatives made him participate at the auctions organized by the City Halls that benefited of repair works of the aqueduct and providing the required number of participants to the auction. As they convened earlier, the economic agent was winning the auction, even if according to the legislation, the winner should be the one who offered the lowest price.

After evolving many fake auctions, that were annulled by the Agency for Public Acquisitions, the entrepreneur was established as a winner and signed a contract to start repairing the sewerage from Straseni. This project is worth 17.946.487 lei, even if the lowest amount proposed by a company was 11.317.530 lei.

The difference between the winner and the lowest offer is 6.628.956 lei, which causes great damages to the state budget and especially to the institutions that manage the public money - Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Finances.

The suspects recognized their guilt.

If found guilty, the instigator risk to spend between 6 and 12 years in prison, a fine between 6 000 and 8 000 contravention units and the deprivation of the right to exercise certain activities and even the liquidation of the legal person.

The accomplices risk a fine between 650 and 1.150 contravention units, up to three years in prison and the deprivation of the right to exercise certain activities for 2-5 years.

Also, they can even pay they trial costs worth 47.064,55 lei. 

To recover the damaged caused by the instigator, there were applied sequestrations worth 3.662.895 lei.
