Cristina Balan, the Republic of Moldova Ambassador to the United States thanked the Chisinau authorities for their trust and said that she represents Moldova's interests in a very important year for our country.

All formal procedures related to my appointment as Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the United States of America have been completed. Soon, I will travel to the US to present my credentials to President Trump.

I would like to thank the Moldovan authorities for their trust. It is an immense responsibility to continue the development of the relations between our country and the USA.

I submitted today a request to PDM to suspend me from the membership of the party for the duration of my mandate. I am truly grateful to my colleagues for their continuous support and friendship.

I am happy to serve my country in Washington D.C. in a year, which is decisive for Moldova’s western path.
