Cristina Balan proposed to be Republic of Moldova Ambassador to the USA
In the weekly briefing of the Democratic Party, Vlad Plahotniuc announced that Cristina Balan was nominated for the Republic of Moldova Ambassador to the United Stated. The PDM leading supported this candidate that should be approved by the Parliament and the Government.
"I am honored to be nominated as the new Ambassador to the US by Moldova. The US-Moldova relationship is key for Chisinau. We see Washington as a strong friend in a complicated region, and a high-potential partner in terms of trade and investments. We hope to develop our relations in the years to come, it is important to build more concrete projects with high impact for Moldovan citizens. In an electoral year, the US remains our main strategic supporter for the country’s geopolitical option to the west" Cristina Balan said.
Cristina Balan is the deputy president of PDM and her responsibility is to manage the foreign affairs of the party. Also, the is the president of Modern Democracy foundation. She has experience in leading the private surrounding. She is married, has two children and speaks Romanian, Russian and English.
Cristina Balan is an active politic character and has a great international experience. Till the present moment, Cristina hold the office of the deputy president of PDM.
Her activity within the party was focused on developing the partnership relations with PDM with the foreign organizations and on the communication with the diplomatic representatives of the international organization.
Cristina represents PDM at the foreign event within the meetings with the EU officials and the ones from the US. Also, she is an active member of the International Socialist and takes part of the Committee for Budget and Finances. In 2017, she gained the title of Woman of the Year in Politics.
Cristina is also the president of the A modern Democracy Foundation that is a platform for leaders and experts from the Republic of Moldova in their relation with the foreign companies.
