Currency crisis in Transnistria. Remittances's volume fall compared to last year
The volume of money transfered in the Transnistrian region dropped four times in the last two years.
According to central bank, only in January-July period this year, the amount reached to 26.5 million dollars, with 35-per-cent less than the same period of 2015, when the volume of remittances was approximately 41 million dollars.
According to the authorities in Tiraspol, this situation is caused by the collapse of the Russian ruble and falling exports on the background of the situation in Ukraine.
Consequently, the region was confronted with an acute currency crisis. Since February this year, foreign currency practically can not be found in Transnistrian exchange offices.
