Customs from Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia strengthen cooperation in experience exchange sphere

Collaboration of customs authorities in the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia extends to the field of training, traineeships and exchange of experience.
A Memorandum to this effect was signed by General Director of the Moldovan Customs Service, Vitalie Vrabie, Interim President of the State Tax Service of Ukraine, Miroslav Prodan and Georgi Tabuashvili, President of the Revenue Service of Georgia.
The signing took place at the trilateral meeting of the heads of customs authorities of the three states, which took place on 25-26 May, in the town of Irpeni, Ukraine, where the National University of State Tax Service of Ukraine is located.
The Memorandum expressly sets out the modalities of interaction between the entities responsible for the training of specialists in the field. Under agreements, the parties will organize training and internship programs for learners, including online, exchanges of experience or exchange of trainers in the reference areas, etc. During talks with his counterparts, Vitalie Vrabie, Director General of the Customs Service, stressed the need to strengthen cooperation on all segments of responsibility.
"The figures show a boost in the trade relations between the three states, so it is important to develop our interaction mechanisms both at the level of exchange of information and exchange of experience," said Vitalie Vrabie.
According to statistical data, in the first four months of this year, imports from Ukraine amounted to 254 million dollars, registering an increase of 73% more than in the same period last year. At the same time, exports to this country increased 2.5 times, to $ 65.9 million. Also in the same period, the volume of goods imported from Georgia doubled, reaching up to $ 1.5 million. At the same time, exports to Georgia increased by 34%, amounting to 7.5 million.
