Customs mobilized to streamline traffic at most demanded state border crossing points in the summer season
Vitalie Vrabie, the director of the Customs Service asked for maximum mobilization to streamline traffic at the most demanded state border crossing points in the summer season.
The actions provide the replacement of the number of staff and verification equipment, the use of all control lanes, including those on the opposite crossing, as well as the involvement of heads of customs posts and their deputies in the clearance act.
At the same time, Vitalie Vrabie requested verification and the updating of the lists with the intervention groups, members of which, if necessary, are recalled and engaged in customs control.
The anti-fraud officers were also mobilized. They are encouraged to be present in the post 24/7 to retrieve documented frauds from inspectors from the control line so that they do not leave the track to make the referrals provided for by the established procedures.
"It is important that the increase in passenger flows does not affect the waiting time in the customs. I expect promptness, diligence and professionalism from all the inspectors in the positions so as to minimize the risk of possible inconveniences", said Vitalie Vrabie.
Statistical data of the past years shows that the highest traffic figures are expected for August, when flows are rising by about 20%. In this context, the Customs Service continues the dialogue with the neighboring authorities in the neighboring countries to ensure operational control on both sides of the border.
The Customs Service has established the Unique Call Center (+373 22 574 111), where information on border crossing rules can be found with various goods or any abuses admitted by the employees of the institution. Also, on the Customs Service website, drivers can see real-time traffic from the most transited stations in order to plan their optimal route.
