Customs service and EUBAM strengthen cooperation in border management
The common control, the infrastructure of the customs, the management of the risks and the simplified procedures were the main discussions topics within the meeting of Vitalie Vrabie, the general director of the customs service with Slawomir Pichor, the chief of the Assistance Mission of the Border for Moldova and Ukraine.
They discussed about the common projects and convened on the measures that will be taken for each of the subjects. Vitalie Vrabie thanked the EUBAM chief for the assistance in implementing the whole management of the border.
"We count on the EUBAM expertise, especially as the Agreement will enter into force on May 25", said Vitalie Vrabie. At his turn, Slawomir Pichor declared that the mission will continue to be presented in all the activities regarding the common control of the border.
At the same time, he appreciated the common control in Cuciurgan-Pervomaisc border crossing point, through the implementing it in import actions.
"The peer control have proven how efficient it is, especially at Palanca crossing point. People pass a control at the checking and this is a normal thing. Also, we are more safe at the fraud and integrity chapter", said Vitalie Vrabie.
We remind that the modernization of these points happened due to an European project impemented by OIM in cooperation with EUBAM, that is worth 4,7 million euros. The project was launched on February 6.
Another sphere that benefits of assistance is implementing the system of recognizing the Moldovan economic agents in the EU. At the same time, Vitalie Vrabie mentioned EUBAM support when the Management Strategy of Risks 2018-2020 was evolved.
What about the future measures, the officials will pay a visit to the border and find out what aspects should be changed.
