Daily food allowance for orphans' menu to increase from next month
More dairy foods, fruits and vegetables in children's menu from orphanages in the capital. Daily food allowance of an orphan will increase by 10 lei starting next month.

17 boys and four girls live at the Center of Pasament for Children situated on Ipate Soroceanu street in the capital. In order to provide necessary food, the cook must invent daily menus that do not cost more than 45 lei.
"Sometimes it's enough, sometimes hungry children want more, but there is no way we can provide more. Sometimes we try cook the food they want. There is twice red soup in the menus. They wanted more, so I sacrificed and brought carrots and beets from home" , said the cook Iulia Buguta.
Center representatives say that the additional money allocated for children will be used for more dairy foods in the cafeteria.
"All children who come to our center come with malnutrition and disabilities that need more calcium. Three liters of milk is allowed for the children to eat the porridge, I think we will increase it up to four- five litres of milk for the porridge to be richer in vitamins and calcium" , said manager Placement Centre for Children, Andriana Zaslavet.
Some common products for other people, are just a dream for the children from the orphanage.
For the supplement of food allowance, within a year, City Hall will spend two million lei for the 57 children in authorities' care.
"Let us ask ourselves if 43 lei is quite enought for our children to eat a whole day with all necessary foods, fruits, meat, everything a child needs. We thought that ten lei is an amount very, very small, but better than nothing", said the acting head of the Department for Child Protection, Rodica Terehovschi.
