Damage of over one million lei, brought to CRDM. Chief of imaging section and computerized tomography, sued
Chief of the Department of Imaging and Computed Tomography of the Republican Medical Diagnostic Center in Chisinau, Silviu Condrea, was sent to trial.
He is accused of abuse of service and illicit enrichment. The accused was arrested on June 30 by NAC prosecutors, and today the anti corruption prosecutors have completed the criminal investigation and sent the criminal case to the court.
Prosecutors established that between 2017-2018, along with several employees of state and private medical institutions in the country, they charged patients, including those insured, up to 5,400 lei for tomographic investigations on a performance device at the Republican Diagnostic Center.
The doctors involved sent the patients for checks without being programmed, and for that they received from the accused up to 200 lei for one person.
In this way, Silviu Condrea would have damaged the medical institution by over one million lei. Also, during searches, prosecutors found more than 6.5 million lei in Condrea, of which more than half of the amount was unjustified.
The doctor was suspended from office and partially acknowledged the act committed. He is currently under house arrest, and if found guilty he may face a fine of up to 400,000 lei or even seven years of prison, in both cases with the deprivation of the right to exercise a certain activity on a within 10 years. At the same time, a civil case was filed for the return of more than one million lei damage caused to the Republican Diagnostic Center.
Thus, the prosecutors seized the mobile and immovable assets of the accused, as well as the amounts of money worth over 6.5 million lei.
