The Romanian language is celebrated today throughout the country. In Chisinau, the program of events began in the morning with the depositing of flowers at the monument of Stefan cel Mare and the Holy and the busts of the writers from the Classical Alley. People say they do not fully feel the atmosphere of celebration, and that, because Romanian remains to be alien to her home.
The first to come with flowers were members of political parties.
"Still not feeling well at home Romanian language is still tense on the wall of Russian language. However, what we have managed in these years was only that Romanian became an official language. And, as a language is spoken Romanian, a nation we are a country to be, "said Mihai Ghimpu, leader of the Liberal party.
With Flowers came the employees of the City Hall, headed by Deputy Mayor Nistor Grozavu.
"I came with that thought, as in 1989, to be Romanian, to stay at home. And now we can meet in certain situations when someone does not want to speak Romanian or does not recognize that Romanian is the language state, "said Nistor Grozavu, Deputy Mayor of Bucharest.
This lady was not limited to flowers. In front of the monument of the voivode, she laid out a feasting table, from which Moldovan wine was not lacking.
"Whoever wants to take it, I make the saddle to be nice, we put bread and tomatoes," said a woman.
The busts of the writers on the Classic Alley were loaded with flowers. Culture people, writers, and ordinary citizens have also commemorated the Romanian language through songs and poems.
"The Romanian language is very beautiful, it's melodious, it's very beautiful."
"It's a soul feast. We speak the language, but sometimes we do not really keep in mind what we are talking about."
"I want them to be at home and not cover us. It's good to know many languages, but you have to know your correct language."
"To be eternal on the globe, to speak to everyone in our country the Romanian language, and to teach the Russians."
Some Moldovans admit, however, that they have no holidays.
- I mean it, but I understand it.
- Why do not you teach her?
- I can speak it, but I use the Russian language more often. In Romanian I speak only to neighbors.
Representatives of the Government also took part in the festive action.
"The actions of the Government and we as a ministry are obliged to promote Romanian language and make it more accessible to the younger generation," said Andrei Chistol, State Secretary for Culture.
The program will continue this evening in the Grand National Assembly Square with a concert featuring Tania Cerga, Vali Boghean, Natalia Gordienko, Geta Burlacu, Zinaida Julea and Valentin with Amelia Uzun. And master Eugen Doga will have an exceptional duet with soprano Mariana Bulicanu.
