Moldovan people still preserve tradition to "take care of" their dead beloved ones.
Locals of Mărcăuţi village, Briceni district celebrate a holiday called “Pastele Blajinilor”, which translates roughly to “Easter of the Gentle”. People bring flowers to the graves of their family and friends, and exchange gifts with others who came to mourn on this day.
Ala Postolachi lives in Moscow for years. She returns to her hometown on Easter.
"It's good tradition that is upheld by our parents, grandparents. We're obliged to maintain these traditions", said Ala Postolachi.
People bring Easter traditional dishes to share with the beloved ones.
"Kalach, red egg, biscuits, for our parents", said a local.
The oldest locals say this tradition has been kept since 1935.
"They wanted to change but we decided: No! This should be maintained further on", said a local.
