Delegation from Venice Commission and ODIHR will be visiting today Chisinau
A delegation from Venice Commission and OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) will be today visiting Chisinau. The experts will speak with Moldovan officials regarding the changes in the election law, namely shifting to the uninominal voting system and will draw a joint opinion.
The delegation will meet during the day with President of Moldovan Parliament, Andrian Candu, and with all parliamentary groups. At the same time, the experts will meet with representatives of the civil society and Electoral Commission, as well as of the Election Committee.
We remind that the project to shift to the uninomial voting system was voted by 74 deputies, on July 20 2017. The document states that, at the parliamentary elections, half of the deputies will be chosen by the party, while another half through uninominal voting.
