Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Cristina Lesnic: Situation in Security Zone remains tense
The situation in Security Zone is tense but remains under control. The statement was made by Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Cristina Lesnic, at Publika TV's "In the Spotlight" show. The official said that several incidents were documented during the year that violate previous agreements. Among the worst are the appearance of armored cars in the summer this year, the restriction of circulation, but also the decision of Tiraspol to build a so-called customs terminal on the Gura Bacului bridge.
"We have done a more accurate monitoring of the incidents that have occurred. I remember in June and August, it was about the appearance of armored cars in the Security Zone, and we do not even know what has been transported with them", said Cristina Lesnic.
Cristina Lesnic also referred to the implementation of the protocol on neutral registration numbers for cars on the left bank of the Dniester River.
"What the Transnistrian side says that cars can not come out of the country with neutral numbers in Ukraine is just speculation, I assure you that we and the Ukrainian authorities have checked this. We also want to check if the MD sticker is on the car", said Cristina Lesnic, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration.
Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration also spoke about working with Ukraine and Georgia to solve frozen conflicts across the three states.
"In December, we will sign an agreement, which stipulates that in the first stage we will work on three areas: human rights, security and exchange of experience", said Cristina Lesnic, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration.
Last week, Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia launched a dialogue platform to counter Russia's aggression.
