Disputes in Parliament between Andrian Candu and PSRM leaders. Socialists dislikes introduction of European vector into Constitution
The introduction of the European vector into the Supreme Law does not seem to appeal to PSRM deputies. Today, at the legislative meeting, the Socialist deputy, Vlad Batrincea, seems to have poor understanding of the introduction of the European integration phrase, considering that the voting of this law would violate the values of other citizens.
"However, the constitution is the supreme law and are legal mechanisms, and we are interested in why decisions of major national interest are not taken by referendum as constituted by the constitution. If this provision will exist and will be constitutional, it means that all those who promote other values can be held accountable and you risk cutting out half the country that believes in something else.
If we are talking about the president, Mr Candu, you have a rating of 1.5% after four years as President of the Parliament and the President has over 50%. Please do not reproach that you are the one who does not trust the citizens", said Vlad Batrincea, PSRM deputy.
During the meeting, Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu explained that the citizens' freedom of opinion will not be restricted because the strategic objective of the Republic of Moldova is the development of the country.
"Where he writes here in the amendments we propose in the constitution that the freedom of opinion is limited, or that the citizens or the politicians do not have the right to have another opinion." Here is another story: "The European integration of the Republic of Moldova is the strategic objective of development of the Republic of Moldova to the constitutional treaties of the EU will be established through the parliament through the organic law and surely a referendum will be held. Any state that joins the European Union is by referendum. I would like to remind you that one of the pillars of the EU is freedom of expression, freedom of opinion, there, where there is freedom of opinion, and, if we adhere to European integration, you find not in another state to the East or the Orient. That's why we are going to the West where indeed the freedom of opinion and expression "Is not that what you want? Vote, if you want", said Andrian Candu, Parliament Speaker.
PUBLIKA.MD reminds that the initiative to introduce the European vector into the Constitution came from the DPM. To approve this bill, at least 67 MPs need to vote pro.
This autumn, DPM declared itself to be a party For Moldova, a party that has as main points the problems of the people. At present, there are six political parties in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, of which four are pro-European.
