Dozens of people in carriages, with incurable diagnoses and complicate fates had shown their talents during the "Dizability Social Economic Fest" event held in Chisinau.
Tatiana Bezerdic is an example for many people. She is in a wheelchair for 20 years. But that did not become an obstacle for her. In her spare time, Tatiana knits and sews.
"I am very pleased that today I sold my work, people appreciated it and bought it with great pleasure. I think my work has been appreciated, because when I knit or sew, I give my soul to each article", said the handmade craftswoman, Tatiana Bezerdic.
For Vlad Andreev, a photographer with cerebral palsy, today is a rare chance to find new customers.
"I am in charge of the art of photography for six and a half years, I do this first because I like to do it, and I do it with all my heart." In each photo you can see a part of me", said photographer Vlad Andreev .
The idea of the fair where hand-made things are displayed by people with disabilities was highly appreciated by visitors.
"Have you bought anything?" "I'm thinking about what to buy, because the choice is very rich, but I've already looked at a few things."
The deputy Valentina Stratan bought some handmade items.
"- What a good idea! It is very beautiful and useful for children to learn how to count and know the colors, that's what drew my attention", said PDM deputy Valentina Stratan.
The biggest impediment for people with disabilities is to find a job.
According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, of 180,000 people with special needs, only a quarter are officially employed. This indicator is to be improved by stimulating economic agents.
Organizers hope the festival will be held every year.
"Dizability Social Economic Fest" was organized for the first time by the Association of Entrepreneurs with Disabilities "European Opportunities without Borders", in cooperation with the National Network of Women Entrepreneurship in Moldova.
