Dniestr war veterans request public apologies from Petkov, Usatii and Nastase
Dniestr river war veterans request that Alexandru petkov, former Commusint deputy and a friend of "Dignity and Truth" party and Renato Usatii "Our Party" to be investigated. They require that the investigation to be initiated after Petkov's claims that the veterans would have been paid to aprticipate at the Independence day parade.
The veterans also demand that Andrei Nastase and Renato Usatîi apologize in public for defamatory words spoken in their address.
The letter in which veterans require initiating a criminal case on Petkov's name was sent to interim Attorney General, Eduard Harunjen.
"They gave 500 euros to each Dniestr river war veteran to go there and wait for us" , said Petkov in a news conference.
Veterans deny Petkov's words.
"The aberrant statements of citizen Alexander Petkov in corruption caused us great pain of mind, trampled our honor and dignity" , said the veteran of the 1992 war, Alexandru Morarescu.
"We came to the military parade to show them that we are the ones that defended national values in 1992 and came to honor the flag, Romanian language and history of our people" , said Chairman of Public Association "Tiras-Tighina", Anatolie Caraman.
The veterans are outraged by the fact that the leader of the "Dignity and Truth" Party, Andrei Nastase called them traitors. They are also disturbed by defamatory words spoken by Renato Usatîi.
"I'd tell him to apologize and that in no time we'll ask him to answer for all the blames. Usatii, who said in Russian that "It's the parade of cocks" I said to get out one on one, get the box gloves and see who is stronger. So far, he didn't answered. That is why we expect apologies from him too" , said chairman of Public "Allegiance " Association, Ghenadie Cosovan.
The Parade on August 27th was attended by 156 veteransof Dniest river.
Several dozen protesters of "Dignity and Truth" Party of Topa mobsters and the formation of pro-Russian formation led by Renato Usatîi booed and threw eggs and stones at soldiers and firefighters who participated in the parade.
