Judges and prosecutors investigating resonant cases such as the billion-dollar theft or the airport concession would be the target of intimidation, the head of state writes on Facebook.
The president claims that he has recently received several messages from the responsible state institutions that "there are tendencies of pressure and intimidation on the decision-makers involved in the investigation and examination of cases of public and national interest."
Moreover, according to Igor Dodon, such forms of threat can endanger not only the lives and integrity of those involved in the investigation process, but also of their family members. This category of officials is under state protection.
The president says he will come up with an initiative to change the regulatory framework to implement an additional mechanism to ensure state protection.
