Donduseni garbage crisis is getting worse. How does City Hall solve this problem?
Garbage crisis from Doncuseni is getting worse. For already two weeks, the city hasn't been disposed. To solve this issue, the president of the district convened the emergency session that ended up with a scandal.
A year ago, the mayor of the town asked people to pay for the sanitation service.
The established tax is higher than before, so, many people refused to pay for it. In addition, residents accuse the city of being guided by an outdated database. Now the mayor wants to return to the old practice, but the director of the enterprise also wants updated data.
"This takes no more than half of a year. The database that was in our computer, does not exist anymore. To make a new database, we have to pay 30,000 lei to the rendering company service, "said Marcel Vrabie, the manager of the municipal enterprise.
People are unhappy and hope the problem is solved, plus not having to pay more.
"It is impossible to get close to the dumpsters. All the rubbish is scattered."
"People are forced to get out of the way, to make a mess in the city. Let them make contracts, only to be no more than 15 lei per person."
The contract between the City Hall and the municipal enterprise that sanitizes the city ended in December and the local authorities did not sign a new agreement. In the next two months, workers continued to collect waste because the mayor promised to pay for services. Since then, local authorities have accumulated debt of almost three hundred thousand lei for the municipal enterprise.
