Dorin Chirtoacă's fate will be decided on 19th November, when Chisinau will host a referendum regarding his removal from office. The decision was made today at the municipal council, with 29 votes.

The resolution was approved by the court, who ,therefore rejected the suspect's plea to cancel their last decision.

The former Mayor is now placed under house arrest, he is suspected of power peddling and corruption, as well as influential trafficking and overworking duties in another case. Dorin Chirtoacă was a municipal administrator for the past 9 years, his mandate expires in 2019.
