Dozens of Moldovan teenagers living abroad reunited within the program "DOR"
Homeland longing brought them home. Dozens of teenagers from Moldova, living abroad, gathered at a special camp organized in Dubasari, within the "DOR" program. Children with age ranging between 12 and 17 during a few days will visit picturesque places from the country and get to know our traditions.
Adriana Cucinschii is only 14 year old, he lives with his family in Greece since when he was 4-year-old. It is already his fourth time participating at the "Dor" camp and each time he return to Moldova with nostalgia.
"Here are my grandparents, my cousins. All of my relatives. I am always met here with love and care" Adriana Cucinschii said.
The rest of the teenagers also confessed that they are always longing to return home.
On the very first day the teenagers were visited by the Prime- Minister Pavel Filip.
"You have an interesting program, filled with entertainment, event that are meant to teach and adapt you to our traditions" the Prime- Minister of the Republic of Moldova Pavel Filip said.
After the greeting message the Prime Minister was given many questions by the teenagers.
"What is your favorite book?" a child asked.
"One of my most treasured authors, I must say, is Remarque. I like his writing style" the Prime- Minister answered.
"When you were a child, or during your youth, did you have a favorite sport?" the Prime- Minister was asked.
"I played football, volleyball, basketball, table tennis and gained a grant in sports, by participating to multiple competitions" Pavel Filip answered.
At the end Pavel Filip took a picture together with the teenagers.
This program reunited 100 children from 14 different countries, only 20 of which are from Moldova.
"Our aim is to ensure a stable link between our immigrants and the Republic of Moldova. As they are the ones speaking with pride about our country, they are the ones who shows the rest of the world how beautiful Moldova is though the children" Olga Coptu, chief of Office of International Relations and Diaspora Affairs said.
It is the fifth edition of the Governmental program "DOR".
