The Democratic Party of Moldova is opposed to early Parliamentary elections and opts for political stability. DPM representatives say the country needs a responsible government to pursue the projects aimed at improving people's lives. Democrats are awaiting a response to the letters sent a few days ago to the PAS and PPDA leaders inviting the "ACUM" Block to talks on forming a ruling coalition. Statements in this regard were made today by DPM Vice-President, Vladimir Cebotari.

"We think that they are still in the fever of electoral emotions at the moment, because we are counting on maturity and responsibility because such a political class has to benefit our citizens." Emotions will not bring water to the house, build roads, raise wages and it will not improve the business environment. Only reason, cold thinking can make us all find the necessary consensus for building a broader coalition of Government", said the Vice-President DPM.

Vladimir Cebotari explained why the Democratic Party has addressed the Constitutional Court and what is the purpose of this appeal.

"The Democratic Party is for the Republic of Moldova to remain that stability that we have maintained for the last three years. In order to be able to concentrate on the glorious construction of the profound projects and reforms we need, continue to feel the benefits to everything we started People have already started to enjoy better roads in the localities that some have aqueducts and sewers, they have entered their first home, many enjoy higher salaries and pensions We do not want these things to continue, we do not want to return to a period of instability.
The Democratic Party is prepared for many scenarios, whatever they may be including is also prepared by a very bad scenario of early elections. If we look at how the post-validation stages of the mandates and a possible parliamentary crisis will follow, it is very easy to see that one of the possible unwanted scenarios would be the lack of a coalition that can appoint a government and early elections. In this mathematical or calendar case, gathering the terms stipulated by the legislation, constitution and the practices that we have, there would be a theoretical possibility that in one year the Republic of Moldova would remain without a new government announced by the new Parliament.
It is unacceptable for the Republic of Moldova to remain unmanaged or not to have persons responsible for approving budgets, administering budgets, reacting in an exceptional situation. We can not afford this. We can not let people remain the hostages of political claims or personal claims of politicians. Not all these political storms have to affect the simple man. Responsible politicians in the past make calculations and try to prevent any situation that may be worsened in relation to their people. It is exactly the same approach that the PD proves in this case.
We have questions and uncertainties and that is why we have appealed to the institution which, from our point of view, can come up with some explanations so that we can know how the next behavior of all politicians can be built", said Vladimir Cebotari.

At the same time, the deputy chairman of the DPM said that letters to invite him to the negotiations were sent only to PAS and PPDA.

PPDA's president, Andrei Nastase, reiterated what he said in both the election campaign and after the elections, that it excludes any discussion with the DPM, but also with PSRM and the "Shor" Party. 

"The citizens of the Republic of Moldova have given us the mandate to work, not to make alliances with them, we do not negotiate the principles and the destiny of the country", said Andrei Nastase, the PPDA leader. 

Neither PAS leader Maia Sandu nor the representatives of the press service of this formation have answered us on the phone to give us a response to the invitation made by the Democrats. At PAS headquarters, we tried to talk to party general secretary Igor Grosu.

"- I would like to ask you, we can not give up the press service and Mrs. Sandu, no one answers us.

Later, PAS announced in a press release that it definitely refuses to negotiate with the Democrats and that they are not going to respond to the DPM letter. 

According to the preliminary results, in the parliamentary elections of February 24, the PSRM obtained the highest number of mandates, 35 in number. The formation is followed by the DPM, with 30 mandates. The PAS-PPDA block will have 26 seats in the future Parliament, and the "Shor" Party, 7. Three parliamentary chairs will be occupied by independent MPs.

PUBLIKA.MD reminds that  on Sunday, February 24 ,  Moldova chose the country's future for the next four years. For the first time this year's elections took place on the basis of the mixed voting system. This means that 50 Parliamentarians are elected as in the previous elections, on party lists, and 51 - in uninominal constituencies.
