DPM voted for European integration in Parliament, while PL and PLDM absented from voting
Democratic Party expressed its disspointment abou PL and PLDM, parties that refused to vote today for introducing the phrase of European Integration in the Constution of Republic of Moldova, but they pretend themselves as pro-european parties.
"The Democratic Party of Moldova is disappointed that PL and PLDM, who claim to be pro-European, have refused to vote for the introduction of European integration in the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova.
We find evidence of political cowardice from PL and PLDM, who chose to simply flee the Parliament, together with the Communist MPs, when it was time for the vote for European integration.
If, in the case of the Socialists and the Communists, the attitude hostile to European integration was something predictable, in the case of Liberals and Liberal Democrats we are dealing with an unexpected transformation, which denies the choices of the pro-European electorate who voted for them.
We believe that the way PL and PLDM deputies turned today behind the European integration represents an unbeatable victory for PCRM and PSRM in Parliament, but also an unfair blow to the pro-European electorate in our country.
We will analyze the possibility of organizing a referendum on this issue in February 2019, on the day of parliamentary elections or at another moment, after we will discuss all the constitutional and organizational aspects", wrote DPM press release.
PUBLIKA.MD reminds that the voting for this draft law, initiated by the Democrats and PPE was postponed after the debates from the last week.
Within the discussions, that took three hours, the liberal democrats, the liberals, the socialists and the communists said that they are against this change in the Constitution.
Andrian Candu, the President of the Parliament said he is disappointing that the political interests and the frustration of the opposition stop such important projects for the future of Moldova.
