Drugs distributed by two suspended police officers and a civilian in Chisinau
The case of the two policemen, one from the General Police Inspectorate of Ciocana and another one of Botanica, investigated for illegal distribution of big amounts of drugs, with the aim of alienation, was send to the court.
Along with the two policemen, a civilian will stand trial, accused with distribution of big amounts of drugs, with the aim of alienation.
The investigation begun on 16th of June, when a citizen of the Capital was found distributing the brute material used in the creation of ecstasy. The man declared that he obtained the drugs from an officer from the General Police Inspectorate of Botanica, after being questioned by the prosecutor.
Afterward, on the 20th of July, an officer from the General Police Inspectorate of Botanica was caught red-handed while handing big amounts of drugs.
The Officer admitted to have an accomplice from the General Police Inspectorate of Ciocana from Chisinau, after being questioned and recognized as a suspect. In its turn, his colleague was taken into custody at Botanica, with a part of the money he was to receive for the sold drugs, in amount of 26.000 lei.
All suspects in this case admitted to their faults, after being questioned by the prosecutors. Recently the two police officers were suspended and placed under house arrest, while their accomplice was banned from leaving the country.
The former officers risk to spend the next 15 years behind bars, with restrictions from taking certain jobs for no more than 5 years, while the civilian risks jail time from 3 to 7 years, with restrictions from applying to certain jobs for 3 to 5 years.
