Economy Minister insists tackling cash-in-hand employment and moonlighting
Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Chiril Gaburici, insists on tackling the cash-in-hand employment and moonlighting. The topic was discussed today at the meeting of the National Commission for Consultations and Collective Bargaining (CNCNC).
"We need to take concrete measures to combat these phenomenons to improve the legal framework and to bring the citizens benefits. Campaigns have been organized to ensure compliance with legislation and ensure the right to work. Similarly, internal controls are needed to improve working conditions. All these actions will contribute to combating the shadow economy and informal work, "emphasized Chiril Gaburici, president of CNCNC.
The representatives of the State Labor Inspectorate, the Ministry of Finance, the National Confederation of Trade Unions of Moldova presented at today's meeting of CNCNC the reports on the measures taken to reduce the informal employment phenomenon and off record employment.
The reports mention that combating these phenomena will substantially increase the accumulations to the state budget, the state social security budget and the compulsory health care budget.
The Secretary of the Ministry of Finance thanked the development partners for their support in developing the projects and materials needed to counteract these phenomenons and to promote measures to combat the informal economy so that businesses and taxpayers comply with legislation in the field.
Also, the draft Government Decision on the plans for the training of specialists on the professions, specialties and general fields of study, in the technical and higher education institutions for the study year 2017-2018 was also examined.
